Midcoast Community Chorus invites new singers for Fall 2024 season
CAMDEN — The Midcoast Community Chorus (MCC) invites singers of all ages and abilities to register for its Fall 2024 season. Weekly rehearsals on Monday evenings will culminate in a January concert featuring a diverse selection of American choral music. No auditions are required, and people with all levels of musical experience are welcomed to join.
• Registration Dates: Monday, September 9 and Monday, September 16
• Late Registration Date: Monday, September 23
• Time: 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM for registration followed by rehearsal from 6:30- 8:30 PM
• Location: Camden First Congregational Church, 55 Elm Street, Camden, Maine 04843
Vocal range checks will be available for anyone who needs one. Registration dues of $85 cover the cost of sheet music and the rehearsal space, and scholarships are available. Weekly rehearsals are on Mondays from 6:30-8:30 p.m., culminating in a concert in mid-January.
This fall, MCC will be welcoming Kim Murphy and Kathryn Mahan as the new interim artistic co-directors of MCC.
“Their inspiring program of choral music by American composers and arrangers will feature works by Ysaye M. Barnwell, Aaron Copland, Cole Porter, Duke Ellington, Eric Whitacre, and many more will evoke a variety of voices and experiences, promising something for everyone to enjoy,” said MCC. “Educational opportunities will occur throughout the season.”
