ROCKLAND— The Maine Coastal Islands Art Gallery will feature three shows that view the natural environment through a variety of artistic techniques.  This exhibition will be on display throughout the winter at the Maine Coastal Islands NWR Visitor Center, 9 Water Street in Rockland.

The three shows will feature artists Brandon Simpson, of Camden; Sandi Cirillo, of Searsport; and the Artists of Midcoast Maine, a collective of artists from various locations along the coast.

Simpson’s work is primarily photographic, and his works on display in the exhibition will be vintage Polarioid photos of Maine’s natural beauty. Cirillo’s work is mixed-media, but often includes textiles and fiber. She depicts images of locations around Maine that she has visited and enjoyed. The Artists of Midcoast Maine present the works of twelve artists in various mediums.

The galleries will be open to visitors through the Winter, Monday through Friday, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., except holidays.  They will offer extended hours on Saturday, December 4, and 11, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All art sales support both the artists and the Friends’ group. The gallery’s Nature Store also will be open for holiday shopping.
