Merryspring online talk: Kitchen Garden Design and History
John Fromer will lead an online presentation called, Kitchen Garden Design & History, hosted by Merryspring Nature Center on Tuesday, April 29, at 12 p.m.
Kitchen gardens have existed since antiquity and are still popular today, according to Merryspring, in a news release. Why have these gardens been important to western cultures? How were they designed and how are they used today? What were the diets of people over the centuries and how did kitchen gardens help support families? What were and are popular vegetables and herbs for kitchen gardens? Join Maine Master Gardener Volunteer John Fromer to learn the answers to these questions and more.
This talk is part of Merryspring’s Online Winter Talk series, co-sponsored by Camden Riverhouse Hotel, Renys, A Maine Adventure, and Camden National Bank.
