Megunticook Rowing announces spring programs

Thu, 04/08/2021 - 11:00am

Megunticook Rowing is pleased to announce open registration for spring youth rowing at the varsity and club level.

The Megunticook Rowing varsity team is for high school age girls and boys wanting to row at a competitive level, and race in team boats.

The team will train four days a week on the water, and have the option to cross train two days a week at our indoor training center at Midcoast Recreation Center in Rockport.

The club rowing program is designed for girls and boys aged 12-18, who are learning to row, or who prefer a more relaxed, noncompetitive, schedule. Practices will be three afternoons each week.

All Megunticook Rowing programs comply with Maine and US Rowing COVID-19 safety guidelines.

The program’s focus is an introduction to rowing, building technique and endurance, and enjoying time on the water. For more information and to register, please visit the website or email row@megunticookrowing.org

Learn to Row classes

Megunticook Rowing is also excited to announce free learn-to-row classes at the Midcoast Recreation Center in Rockport.

Experienced coaches will teach you the basics of the stroke and introduce you to the sport of rowing.

This is a great place to start if you are interested adding the rowing machine into your workout routine, or hope to get on the water later in the season. These sessions are open to all ages. No experience required.

Visit the website or email row@megunticookrowing.org to register.
