ROCKPORT — The Medomak Valley varsity football team hit the road to Rockport on Saturday, Oct. 20 for a regular season finale showdown against Camden Hills and returned home to Waldoboro with a 50-22 victory over the Class E Windjammers. 

Quarterly scores saw the visitors hold advantages of 22-0, 36-0 and 44-6. 

For the Class C Panthers, the win bumped their record to 4-4 and put the Panthers on course for the program’s first ever playoff game in only the program’s second year of playoff eligibility. 

For the Windjammers, the loss dropped their record to 4-4 on the season. 

Medomak Valley earned the fifth seed and will hit the road to challenge fourth-seeded Nokomis on Saturday, Oct. 27 at 1 p.m. 

Camden Hills received a fourth seed spot in the playoffs and will host fifth-seeded Old Orchard Beach on Saturday, Oct. 27 at 2 p.m.

“We are excited to play a home playoff game,” Camden Hills head coach Jeremy Marks said about the playoff appearance. “As we continue to rebuild this program having opportunities such as this are huge.”

In the regular season finale, Medomak Valley’s Drew Severson rushed for 278 yards on 19 carries and three touchdowns, while Colvin Standring added 68 yards and three touchdowns. Other key offensive contributors for the Panthers included Eli Miller (25 yards rushing), Jakob Gess (13 yards rushing), Levi Ward (13 yards rushing) and Austin Stone (26 yards rushing, touchdown). As a team, the Panthers rushed for 423 yards. 

On the defensive side of the ball, Medomak Valley contributors included Miller (nine tackles, two assists), Erik Benner (four tackles), Korbin Daniels (three tackles, two assists) and Brian Pollard (two tackles, two assists). 

For Camden Hills, it was senior day and those being recognized included quarterback Spencer Johndro, tailback Ethan Cayouette, manager Chelsea Field, wingback Samuel Hebert, tight end Coleman Haskell, tailback Connor Hedstrom and offensive lineman Jonathan Heath. 

Leading the offensive charge for the Windjammers were Hebert (156 yards on 16 carries, two touchdowns) and Johndro (66 yards on 13 carries, touchdown). 

Defensively for the Windjammers, William Thorn collected three tackles, Johndro collected two tackles and five assists, Hedstrom had two tackles and five assists, Ryan Clifford had two tackles and seven assists and Haskell collected two tackles and five assists. Braden Moulton had one tackle and six assists.
