ROCKLAND — A Massachusetts man remains at the Knox County Jail after his bail was set at $10,000 for allegedly dealing cocaine and fentanyl in Rockland.

Joseph Rodriguez, 26, of Haverhill, Mass., was arrested June 8 by the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency. Rodriguez is charged with Class A aggravated trafficking in fentanyl and Class B unlawful trafficking in cocaine.

Rodriguez appeared in Knox County Unified Court June 9 where the judge set his bail at $10,000 cash. He will be on supervised release after he is released from jail.

According to the affidavit filed in court by the MDEA, Rodriguez allegedly supplied drugs to Paul Mahonen Jr., 43, of Knox. Mahonen was arrested April 27 in Rockland and charged with two counts of aggravated trafficking of scheduled drugs that included fentanyl and cocaine.

MDEA stated in the court document that they seized approximately 72 grams of cocaine and more than nine grams of fentanyl from Mahonen.

Rodriguez sold the cocaine to Mahonen for $1900 an ounce and $700 for ten grams of fentanyl, according to the affidavit.

Jonathan R. Liberman of Waterville is representing Rodriguez as his court appointed attorney.

Rodriguez will appear in court again August 19 for a dispositional conference.
