SACO — Maine Water Company announced May 11 that Mike Ames has been promoted to Director of Service Delivery. Ames joined the company in 2019 as the Superintendent of the Camden-Rockland Division.

In his new role, Ames will lead the day-to-day operations of field service employees in delivering high-quality water and world-class service to Maine Water customers across the state, and will lead superintendents in all of the company’s operating divisions. He will have oversight and responsibility for water quality, water supply, the operation and maintenance of water system infrastructure, and long-term planning for system improvements.

“Mike has made a real and positive impact since joining the Maine Water team back in 2019,” said Maine Water President Mark Vannoy, in a news release. “He brings a successful track record of organizing, directing and leading one of our largest operating regions in efficiently serving customers. He reflects the core values of service, transparency and trust that is the foundation of Maine Water’s reputation.”

Ames came to Maine Water from Farley, Inc. where he gained over twenty years of experience as a team leader and project manager. He succeeds Michael Cummons who was appointed vice president of Maine Water earlier this year.

Ames holds an associate’s degree in plants and soils from Southern Maine Technical College and lives in Hope, where he also served in the past as a Select Board member.
