Maine Maple Sunday at Cramer Museum, Camden
CAMDEN — The Camden-Rockport Historical Society is celebrating Maine Maple Sunday, March 22 with a sugaring-off at their museum located on the Camden-Rockport line next to Hannaford. From 1 to 3 p.m. there will be demonstrations of maple syrup making in the 1820s sugarhouse.
Free maple syrup-ice cream sundaes will be available in the museum. There will also be free samples of open fire pit cooking — Maynard Stanley's chuck wagon beans and maple-marinated pepperoni cooked to perfection.
There will be maple syrup available for sale, along with maple-flavored treats, including cream puffs. There will be a nominal fee for beverages and take-away containers of the chuck wagon beans can be purchased.
Something new this year will be a shingle-making demonstration using a froe and wooden maul.
