Maine Lobster Festival seeks volunteers
ROCKLAND — The Maine Lobster Festival welcomes thousands of people to Midcoast Maine every summer to celebrate Maine lobster and the local lobster industry. In order to make all aspects of the festival run properly, hundreds of visitors and community members who volunteer year after year are relied upon.
From the board of directors to the folks serving lobster dinners throughout Festival Week, all are volunteers who give their time and energy to make the Maine Lobster Festival run.
For eleven months, the board of directors is busy planning for the upcoming festival. For three weeks prior to the festival, volunteers start to get the grounds set up to meet all of the visitors’ expectations upon arrival.
All proceeds raised from the festival are given directly back to the Rockland area communities in the forms of donations, grants, scholarships, and gifts.
Festival organizers are looking for volunteers to sign up for the 68th annual Maine Lobster Festival. There is a position for everyone. Whether it’s helping to set up or taking down tents, cooking the thousands of lobsters to be served this year, or taking tickets at one of the gates, all help is needed.
In return, volunteers will receive volunteer t-shirts and eternal thanks for the hard work.
To sign up as a volunteer, fill out a volunteer form and send it to the following address:
