Maine Lobster Festival donates $1,000 to Rockland District Nursing

The Maine Lobster Festival has a long tradition of giving back to the community, according to MLF, in a news release, and donated $1,000 to the Rockland District Nursing Association at its recent board meeting. This brings the Festival's donations to community organizations to $5,450 so far in 2024.
 
Previous 2024 donations:
  • MCH Inc. received a $1,000 donation for the Meals on Wheels program. Meals on Wheels delivers hot, nutritious meals to older adults and disabled individuals throughout Knox County.
  • Toys for Tots Knox County received a $200 donation. Toys for Tots collects new, unwrapped toys to be gifted to less fortunate children at Christmas.
  • United Midcoast Charities received a $250 donation. UMC supports other local nonprofits by providing grants for food, housing, health & safety, and economic security.
  • Trekkers received a $500 donation. Trekkers is a six-year program that connects students with caring adults in long-term mentorship relationships to support them and cultivate their strengths.
  • Pope Memorial Humane Society received a $500 donation. PMHS provides compassionate care, treatment, and placement for animals received from Thomaston and surrounding towns.
  • St. Bernard's Soup Kitchen received a $1,000 donation. St. Bernard's Soup Kitchen provides free lunch Monday through Friday to those in need.
  • Rockland District Nursing Association received a previous $1,000 donation. RDNA provides non-acute in-home nursing health services to residents of Rockland and surrounding Midcoast communities.
