Maine Legislature to convene May 19

    AUGUSTA — Senate President Troy Jackson, of Allagash, and House Speaker Ryan Fecteau, of Biddeford, have announced that the Maine Legislature will convene Wednesday, May 19, at the Augusta Civic Center.

    The Senate proceedings will begin at 10 a.m.; the House proceedings will begin at 10 a.m. 

    Lawmakers are expected to take votes on bills that have come out of committee since its last session day.

    The Senate and House calendars will be made available on the Legislature’s website Monday afternoon.

    Attendance will be limited to members of the 130th Maine Legislature, essential legislative staff and credentialed members of the press due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

    The Senate will convene in the North Wing on the second floor of the Civic Center. The House will convene in the Main Auditorium, all entry into the Augusta Civic Center must be through the center main entrance.

    Prior to entry into the Augusta Civic Center, legislators, authorized legislative staff and essential third parties shall complete a professional health screening test. This pre-entry health screening will be provided by Workplace Health, through MaineGeneral. All attendees must abide by the health and safety protocols adopted by the Legislative Council.
