Maine Coast Orthodontics has announced the arrival of Kirk Round to its Rockport practice.

"Dr. Round is the perfect fit for our team," said MCO founder Ed Zanca, in a news release. "Along with nine years of clinical experience, he brings a great deal of enthusiasm and expertise to the practice. Not only that, he is a great guy."

After serving in the U.S. Marine Corp, Round graduated from the University of Connecticut with a bachelor's degree in political science. Following graduation from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine with a Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) and completing his residency, he received a Certificate in Orthodontics and Dento-Facial Orthopedics from the University of Rochester, Eastman Institute of Oral Health in New York.

Originally from Litchfield, Connecticut, Round has strong family ties to the Midcoast. His wife, Liv LiaBraaten, is from the area, and both have parents here, as well.

"As an orthodontist there are many options for how and where one will practice their specialty," said Round. "When the opportunity to practice with Dr. Zanca in Rockport and Belfast arose, I knew it was an opportunity not to be missed. Ed and his team embody a caring, positive, and fun approach to orthodontic care. I am excited to join this great practice and my wife and I are thrilled to be back in the Midcoast among family and friends."

Outside of working to improve the smiles of children and adults alike, Round enjoys woodworking, sailing, and is an avid outdoorsman. He looks forward to meeting all patients currently in the Maine Coast Orthodontic family, and invites those considering treatment to schedule a complimentary appointment with MCO to personally see how Dr. Round practices his positive and fun approach to orthodontics.
