TENTANTS HARBOR — Maine author David Florig will be at the Jackson Memorial Library in Tenants Harbor on Tuesday, October 17, at 5:30 p.m., to discuss his debut novel, The Stones of Ailsa Craig.

Set in present-day Belfast, Maine and 1880s Scotland, this historical fiction novel is a dark look into one man’s loss, loneliness, and obsession with vengeance and justice. The Stones of Ailsa Craig is centered around the ancient Scottish sport of curling and features a Foreword by Olympic curler Tara Peterson. Although curling provides the context, the novel is for fans of both historical fiction and mysteries.

Florig will discuss the ancient Scottish sport of curling, read from The Stones of Ailsa Craig, discuss his writing process and inspiration, and will bring a curling stone made from 60-million-year-old Scottish granite. He will have copies of his book available for purchase and for signing, and will have plenty of time for Q &A.

David Florig is the past-president of the Pine Tree Curling Club in Portland, Maine, as well as a member of the Maine Writers and Publishers Alliance.
