BELFAST — Belfast residents and those in surrounding communities are invited to remember family members and friends who have passed at a special gathering at The First Church in Belfast.

The annual “Love Light Tree Lighting Ceremony” will be held Sunday, Dec. 1, at 5 p.m., at The First Church in Belfast. It is a celebration of our loved ones who have passed and those of family and friends in a simple ceremony of remembrance. 

The program includes inspirational readings and song. There is also the reading of the names of loved ones who are no longer with us. This gathering brings people across the community and beyond together in a powerful moment of love, honoring, and remembering.   

Interested individuals may add names to be honored on the Love Light list by contributing $5 for an individual “Love Light” or $ 25 for a “String of Love Lights” for the current year.  

“Love Light” order forms are available at the Office of The First Church in Belfast at 8 Court Street and the Belfast Area Chamber of Commerce. 

Light orders must be received at The First Church Office no later than 12 noon on Friday, Nov. 22, to be included in the December 1 ceremony.
