CAMDEN — The day after a spate of car burglaries, Camden police are warning vehicle owners in the area, including Hope and the surrounding towns of Camden, to roll up the windows and lock all car doors.

And keep your belongings safe; don't leave them in the car.

Sometime during the overnight hours of April 20-21, perpetrators made their way along residential streets of Camden — Megunticook, Union, Washington, Spring — breaking into cars and stealing items, such as wallets, sunglasses and more.

There was likewise a vehicle burglary in Hope the same night.

In total, six cars were burglarized overnight. Vehicle owners discovered the crimes April 21, and reported them to the Camden Police Department.

Camden Police suspect the burglars are local, and not part of any organized gang, such as the area suffered in 2015.
