Liberty crash kills one on Route 3, traffic rerouted
State Police say the driver of a pickup was killed instantly this afternoon when his truck veered into the path of an oil tanker truck on Route 3 in Liberty. The crash took place near the intersection of the Marshall Shore Road. The tanker truck driver attempted to avoid the head on collision. The driver of the big rig was not injured. The oil truck, owned by H O. Bouchard, ended up on its side in a grassy bog and troopers say no oil has leaked. The crash site is near Lake St. George State Park and Route 3 traffic is being diverted around the crash site using side roads.
