Knox County Sheriff’s beat: Domestic violence, operating under the influence
The Knox County Sheriff’s office received 201 calls for service from Feb.1-7. Those calls that are not listed below include issues with all terrain vehicles, alarms, 911 hang-ups, nuisance, erratic vehicles and suspicious complaints. An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.
Feb. 1
Deputy John Hansen responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in South Thomaston involving two vehicles. Reportable damage sustained.
Deputy Paul Spear responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Warren involving two vehicles. Reportable damage sustained.
Deputy Pat Polky began an investigation of a domestic on North Haven. This is still an active investigation with probable charges pending.
Feb. 2
Deputy Arthur Smith responded to a report of trespassing in St. George. The subject in question was located and left voluntarily.
Deputy Paul Pinkham responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Hope involving a single vehicle. Reportable damage sustained.
Deputy Matt Elwell responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Hope involving a single vehicle. Reportable damage sustained.
Hansen began an investigation of harassment in Warren. The suspect was located and issued a warning for same.
Hansen responded to a report of a vehicle on fire in Warren. Following, the operator was issued a summons for operating after suspension.
Feb. 3
Detective Justin Twitchell responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Union involving a single vehicle. Reportable damage sustained.
Elwell responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Washington involving three vehicles. Reportable damage sustained.
Hansen responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Union involving two vehicles. Reportable damage sustained.
Hansen responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Warren involving two vehicles. Reportable damage sustained.
Hansen responded to a report of a hit and run motor vehicle accident in Cushing. Reportable damage sustained and the suspect vehicle was not located.
Hansen responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Warren involving a single vehicle. Reportable damage sustained.
Smith arrested Mark White, 25, of Searsmont, on an outstanding arrest warrant. He was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.
Feb. 4
Hansen responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in St. George involving two vehicles. This was deemed non-reportable as it occurred on private property.
Following a traffic stop in Thomaston, Hansen issued a summons for attaching false plates.
Deputies Jeremy Joslyn and Sgt. Lance Mitchell responded to a report of a disorderly male in St. George. The male was located and left voluntarily.
Feb. 5
Deputies Nathaniel Jack and Joslyn responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Warren involving a single vehicle. Upon arrival it was found that the operator had left the scene but was later located. Following this response, Scott Goldrick, 36, of Warren was arrested on charges of operating under the influence, leaving the scene of an accident and failing to report accident by quickest means. He was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.
Sgt. John Palmer responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Warren involving two vehicles. Reportable damage sustained.
Deputy Robert Potter responded to a report of a domestic on the island of North Haven. This was deemed a verbal argument only and the parties separated for the night.
Feb. 6
Deputy Pinkham arrested Brandi Simmons, 33, on an outstanding arrest warrant. She was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.
Following a traffic stop in Union, Deputy Spear arrested Mark Eller, 66, of Appleton on charges of operating after suspension, operation on suspended registration and a probation violation. He was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.
Pinkham responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Washington involving two vehicles. Reportable damage sustained.
Following a traffic stop in St. George, Palmer arrested Travis Sawyer, 38, of St. George, on a charge of operating under the influence. He was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.
Feb. 7
Deputy Potter responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash on Vinalhaven involving a single vehicle. Upon arrival, it was found that the operator had left the scene but was later located and issued a summons for leaving the scene of an accident.
Deputies Jack and Joslyn responded to a report of a domestic in St. George. Following this response, Michael Paulsen, 38, of St. George, was arrested on a charge of criminal threatening. He was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.
Pinkham began an investigation of harassment in Owls Head. The suspect in this case was located and issued a summons for same.
Joslyn arrested Derek Hall, 20, of Warren, on an outstanding arrest warrant. He was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.
Joslyn arrested Justin Ott, 23, of Warren, on two outstanding arrest warrants. He was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.
