Knox County deputies investigate Appleton armed robbery
APPLETON — Knox County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a break-in and armed robbery that occurred in Appleton.
A couple were at home and in bed at approximately 11:40 p.m., Saturday, March 7 when armed assailants forced entry into the residence on the Union Road, according to the KCSO.
The assailants confronted the couple for money, and the couple complied with the demands, according to Chief Deputy Patrick Polky.
The assailants also rummaged through the house and took several more items before fleeing in a vehicle.
Investigators believe this to be a target specific event and likely no immediate risk to the general public.
The circumstances are still being investigated.
