CUSHING — Kevin Stone Crute, 31, died May 21 in Cushing. He was born Oct. 17, 1981, in Rockport to Karl and Laraine Stone Crute. Kevin grew up in Cushing and attended Georges Valley High School.

Kevin's family was most important in his life, especially his mom and dad, who always supported him throughout. He dearly loved his grandparents, Donald and Shirley Crute.

Kevin enjoyed spending time with his many friends. He loved animals, especially his beloved dog, Tia.

Kevin enjoyed camping, fishing — especially for stripers, his speed boat and tinkering. He was a lobsterman and clamdigger. Kevin was well known as one of the best sternmen you could have on your boat. He worked for awhile with his Uncle Buzzy in Washington State as a mechanic.

He is survived by his parents, Karl Crute Sr. and Laraine Crute of Cushing; his sisters, Edwynna Crute of Cushing, Monica Hall of Cushing and Alicia Morse of Annapolis, Md.; his brother, Karl Crute Jr. of Cushing; his nephews, Nicholas Olson, R.J. Hall, Shawn Crute, Kalob Crute, Trevor Crute and Max Crute, all of Cushing, and Eli Morse of Annapolis, Md.; his nieces, Zoe Morse of New York City, Anna Morse of Annapolis, Md., and MacKenzie Hall of Cushing; his step-nieces, Heidi and Jaymie McMahon, both of Cushing; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

A service to celebrate Kevin's life will be held Thursday, June 13, at 10 a.m. at Thomaston Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne Sawyer officiating. Burial will follow in the Crute Family Cemetery on Woody Lane in Cushing.
