SEARSPORT — Carver Memorial Library announces the following June activities:

    Summer Reading begins June 15
Time to get your reading packets. Reading, activities, events, and more for all ages! Earn your Animals patch and catch up on Searsport, Maine History, and Fairytale patches. Finishers will be entered in one of our prize bag drawings. We will have events and activities for everyone through the summer, including DIY Kits, pizza gardening, and outdoor storytimes.

Hula Hoop Making Workshop and Dance Party
Friday, June 25. Rain date: July 9. 2pm hoop making, 3pm dance party
    Location: Library lawn
Hooping is so much fun, and a great way to get moving, get some exercise, and whirl away stress.
Perfect for teens and tweens to shake off the school year. Or for adults to shake a leg! We’ll be outside on the library lawn, and staff will mask when assisting young hoop makers. We’ll start at 2pm making hoops and practicing, and at 3pm we’ll turn up the music for hooping and dancing. Bring your own hoop if you have one. Ribbon wands would also be fun. Or just your dancing feet! And maybe a water bottle.
Preregister to make a hoop, or just come dance! Hoop makers under age 10 must be accompanied by an adult. Contact the library to preregister to be sure we will have enough supplies.

    Pizza Garden: Planting
Tuesday, June 29, 3pm. Rain date: Friday, July 2.
This summer we’re growing a pizza garden full of delicious ingredients like tomatoes, peppers, onions, basil, and more. Help plant seedlings in our raised beds, and a seed to grow at home. Our pizza garden is intended to connect everyone to gardening through pizza, a family favorite. All ages.
