John Mahon, obituary
CAMDEN — John Joseph Mahon Jr., 80, of Camden, died Dec. 22, 2013, at his home in Camden. Born in Queens, N.Y., Sept. 27, 1933, he was the son of John and Ethel (Eadie) Mahon. From 1954 to 1956, John served in the U.S. Army then attended Columbia University, receiving his law degree.
On Aug. 21, 1964, John married Juanita Rosewall in Albuquerque, N.M.
For many years, John worked for Raytheon, where he was director of labor relations.
In 1968, the Mahon family started vacationing in Maine. They lived on Long Pond in Mt. Vernon for a number of years before relocating to Camden.
Surviving is his wife of 49 years, Juanita Mahon; four children, Stephen Ivins and his wife, Deborah, of Indiana, Bonnie Gail Ivins of Natick, Mass., Erin Carl Ivins and his wife, Sandra, of West Boylston, Mass., and Matthew John Mahon and his wife, Anne, of Belmont, Mass.; nine grandchildren, Joseph Ivins, Stephen Ivins Jr., Christine Bellemare, Jacquelyn Bellemare, Jennifer Ross, Gregory Ross, Erica Ivins, John Mahon and Jane Mahon; one great-grandchild, Lincoln Daniel Powers; and his beloved dog and constant companion, Gracie. He was predeceased by a son, Kevin Wayne Ivins.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
