Jeffrey Cameron Paul, obituary

UNION — Jeffrey Cameron Paul, 65, died on Friday, April 20, 2018 at his home in Union.  Born in Rockland on September 30, 1952, he was the son of Richard C. and Diane (Cameron) Paul, and was a 1971 graduate of Camden-Rockport High School.  Jeff served in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged on December 18, 1978 as a machinist’s mate.

Jeff worked with John Hart as a caretaker for the Watson family for 11 years, and for several years worked in maintenance at the Camden Snow Bowl.  For the past 24 years, Jeff had been employed as a wastewater technician working for the Town of Camden.  

Jeff was an experienced scuba diver and worked setting moorings in Camden harbor and also working on the Megunticook Watershed dams performing maintenance, repairs, and cleaning.  

In his later years, he enjoyed collecting antiques, trains and fire arms.  Jeff was an avid reader, had a strong interest in maritime history and enjoyed researching family history.

A free spirit with an outgoing personality, Jeff had a very wide circle of friends.  

Jeff was predeceased by his companion, Nancy Crawford, who died in 2006, and his parents, Richard C. and Diane Paul.  Surviving is his brother, Brainard C. Paul, II and his wife, Joan of Lebanon; sisters Kim Cates and her husband, Dan of Camden, Kelly Briggs of Rockport, and Sally Paul of Rockland; Uncles, Bill Paul and his wife, Rose of Scituate, Massachusetts; Cliff Cameron and his wife, Betty, of Camden; Aunt, Susan Cameron of Orange, CA; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Jeff will be missed by his co-workers at the Wastewater Department who were like extended family members.
