Jean Winchenbach Winslow, obituary
ROCKPORT — Jean Winchenbach Winslow passed away January 13, 2026, four days before her 98th birthday, at Pen Bay Medical Center, after living in her own home.
She was born in Jamaica Plains, Massachusetts, January 17, 1928 to Samuel and Clara Gruhn Winchenbach. She married Raymond Winslow February 16, 1946, and boy did they love to dance.
When Jean left this world for a better place, the last thing she saw were the faces of her daughter, grandchildren and daughter-in-law, whom she loved so much. She is now at home with her Lord and Savior and the love of her life, Raymond.
Jean loved to travel, having been to every state except Alaska and Hawaii.
She loved to go on rides and flower shopping. Tending her flower gardens and bird watching were other favorite pastimes.
She was a hard worker and was employed for over 60 years as a bookkeeper.
Jean is survived by her daughter, Paula Sawyer; daughter-in-law, Brenda Winslow; sister, Doris Prock; a sister-in-law, Diane Campione; her grandchildren, Jason Winslow, Laurie Lee (Bubba), and Amy McCollett (Kurt); her great-grandchildren, Devin Winslow, Jacob Lee, Rachel Bowman, Josh Lee, Riley McCollett, Eli McCollett, Isaac McCollett, Ivy McCollett; and nine great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Jean was predeceased by her husband, Raymond; her son, Dana Winslow; her brothers, Paul Winchenbach (Ida), Robert Winchenbach (Flora), Carl Winchenbach (Gloria), and a brother-in-law, Wallace Prock.
A graveside service will be held Monday, June 29, 2026, at 2 p.m., at Thomaston Village Cemetery, Erin Street, Thomaston.
