Jay N. Crosby, obituary
JEFFERSON — Jay Nelson Crosby, 55, born Nov. 16, 1961, in Augusta, son of Stanley and Janice Crosby of Jefferson, passed away Feb. 27, 2017, from natural causes, at his home.
Jay attended a workshop for children with special needs in Winthrop and lived at home with his family. When he became 21, Jay moved into a group home in Belfast, which he called home and where he made many friends.
Although Jay had many lifelong struggles, he will always be lovingly remembered for his huge smile that would light up a room. He will also be remembered for his love of chocolate, McDonald's french fries and chicken nuggets, and blondes.
Jay was predeceased by his mother, Janice Crosby; and his grandmother, Thelma Hallowell in 2007. He leaves behind his father, Stanley Crosby of Jefferson; his sister and guardian, Kelly Colby and her husband, Nat, of Windsor; a very, very special niece, Kelsey Buckmore and her husband, Justin, of Chelsea; his nephew, Shane Colby and his fiance, Chelse Garceau, of Windsor; his friend, Donna Parlin of Jefferson; and his most treasured friend, Veronica Cook, who treated Jay with love, respect and tenderness. Ronnie is Jay's sister from another mother and father. Jay is also survived by his brother, Trevor Crosby, currently residing in Tunisia, Africa.
We would like to thank everyone for the care Jay has received from the people of the Belfast area. There will be no memorial services. A graveside service will be held in the spring at Resthaven Cemetery in Windsor at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are under the care of Riposta Funeral Home.
