It’s Girl Scout Cookie time at Reny’s Plaza
CAMDEN — The young ladies of Girl Scout Troop 2117 out of Rockland were open for business in the Reny’s Plaza Saturday morning and afternoon. Those sumptuous Girl Scout cookies were up for grabs and from the looks of it, sales were going very well.
There was Shortbread, Peanut Butter Sandwich, Thanks-A-Lots, Cranberry Citrus Crisps, Lemonade, Peanut Butter Patty, Thin Mints and Caramel Delights to choose from. Hard to decide, but since three of the five girls recommended the Lemonades, that’s what I went for. I couldn’t resist my long-time favorite Thin Mints and I threw in a box of Caramel Delights for good measure.
The troop will put the money raised toward their New York trip next December. They need to raise $300 per girl and there are seven girls to finance.
In addition to selling cookies, the troop also does community service projects and this coming Tuesday, March 10, they will travel to Augusta and serve as pages to the Maine State Senate.
The girls of Troop 2117 have been working together since kindergarten. They operated two booths in the plaza. One in front of Queen Bee Laundry and one in front of the Reny’s store entrance.
They will return to the plaza March 14, for another round of cookie sales. You can also pre-order cookies, at Queen Bee, for pickup on March 15.
