Good Trouble Project fundraiser concert to benefit Homeworthy
ROCKPORT — On February 8, The Good Trouble Project will present a fundraiser concert featuring four local singer-songwriters to benefit Homeworthy - formerly the Knox County Homeless Coalition. The Good Trouble Project was formed three years ago by local singer-songwriters John and Rachel Nicholas with an aim to host intimate acoustic music shows that benefit local organizations and named to honor the legacy of late civil rights leader and congressman John Lewis.
Belfast based Sara Trunzo is an award-winning independent singer-songwriter, Maine-based community organizer, and creator and host of “Country & Northeastern” on WERU Community Radio. Kate Fiano is a singer-songwriter and public school music teacher currently living in Maine where she has been writing new songs and performing throughout the Midcoast. Andre Lascoutz is a singer, songwriter and guitarist with Maine roots who previously lived in Nashville for a two decades. He writes songs and plays in a few different local bands as well. Your hosts and founders of the Good Trouble Project, John and Rachel Nicholas, are award winning singer-songwriters who settled in Maine in 2012.
Homeworthy is the only comprehensive homeless services organization in their approximate 2,000 square mile coverage area, and is working to end the cycle of homelessness through innovation and collaboration around affordable housing as well as reaching whole families through their family shelter and youth program. They aim to provide a supportive community within which all families and individuals have the opportunity for housing and a sustainable productive life. Homelessness is a complex issue with many underlying causes, including systemic origins such as poverty and lack of affordable housing.
The show will be held at Pascal Hall in Rockport rather than Barnswallow Books. The use of Pascal Hall is generously donated by the Lesher Family Foundation. Special thanks also to Ken Wexler of Owls Head and Tom O’Donovan from Rockport for helping to sponsor this event.
The concert starts at 7 p.m., and admission is $15. Seats may be reserved by calling John at 508-314-1506.
Pascal Hall is located at 86 Pascal Ave, Rockport. There is parking on the street.
