Give Steve Ellis your vote on November 5
Steve Ellis, candidate for Maine House District 38 (Waldo, Knox, Thorndike, Unity, Brooks, Jackson, Swanville, Monroe and part of Frankfort) is responsive to the pressing needs of the people of Maine.
Our present state representative has proven himself insensitive to the problem of climate change. He was rated at a mere 17% for his environmental record by the Maine People's Alliance. Steve Ellis has been fully endorsed by that organization.
The climate situation is dire. In 2010 we were hoping to hold a line on CO2 in the atmosphere to 350 parts per million. Today CO2 measures 421 parts per million.
Too much CO2 in the air is the reason the climate is changing. It is the cause of warming temperatures, wildfires, freak storms, flooding and mudslides. It's the reason last June was the hottest June on record. Too much carbon in the air is having an impact on our everyday life, from tick-borne disease to new invasive insects moving in.
The Gulf of Maine is warming at a faster rate than any other body of water in the world, threatening our lobster industry as a result.
Steve Ellis will work hard and do his best to navigate our way out of this crisis. First, by not taking money from big oil and special interests. (Steve is the only clean election candidate in this race.) Second, by bringing his negotiating experience and teaching skills to the table in Augusta. His humble nature will endear him to both sides of the aisle.
We don't have time for regressive politics. We need competent people to work together in Augusta to address the problem of climate change.
I urge you to give Steve Ellis your vote on November 5.
