Hancock County volunteer from Lamoine, Lori Jordan, has been announced as the Girl Scouts of Maine (GSME) Volunteer of the Month of August. Jordan is currently involved as a volunteer within the Frenchman Bay Service Unit.

The volunteer of the month is a prestigious title recognized by GSME, according to GSME, in a news release. It is awarded monthly to an adult volunteer who has demonstrated exceptional dedication and efforts within the organization to benefit Girl Scouts statewide. 

"For years, Lori has been a dedicated and inspiring presence, bringing passion and purpose to the Frenchman’s Bay Service Unit and beyond," said GSME. "Whether she is serving as the service unit manager, guiding multiple troops, or expertly coordinating the fall product and cookie programs, Lori consistently goes above and beyond. 

"Lori’s leadership has also been a driving force behind the success of the Northeast Regional Cookie Rally. Through her organization, leadership, and enthusiasm, she has helped create a fun, memorable experience for hundreds of Girl Scouts. Lori is always finding meaningful ways for girls to connect, give back, and make a positive impact right where they live, showing Girl Scouts that they can be resilient, capable leaders in the world around them.

"Lori is an amazing example of what it means to be a Girl Scout volunteer in Maine, and we are so thankful for all she does."
