Friday morning traffic briefly rerouted after rollover in Thomaston
THOMASTON — Traffic near Atlantic Highway (Route 1) and Oyster River Road was slowed for a brief time following a motor vehicle crash this morning, Friday, Sept. 8, just before 8 a.m.
At approximately 7:50 a.m., a northbound car lost control, travelled around the vehicle in front of it before rolling over completely, landing back on its wheels in the northbound lane.
The incidents was first reported as a one-vehicle crash, but others reported it as a two-vehicle crash based on the other car that had been driven around.
No injuries were reported.
Eventually, northbound traffic was allowed to resume, using the southbound lane, while southbound traffic was diverted onto Oyster River Road.
Thomaston Fire, Ambulance, and Police responded to the scene.
Later in the day, at approximately 4:25 p.m., Rockland police, fire and EMS responded to the Thompson Meadow Road, off of West Meadow Road, for a Model T that ended up on its side. Four occupants were in the vehicle at the time, but no injuries were reported.
Camden Exxon hauled the vehicle away.
