Free blueberry picks at Beech Hill Preserve

ROCKPORT — The “Blues” will be ready early this year. Coastal Mountains Land Trust invites the public to participate in the 19th annual free blueberry pick.

“As we did last year, instead of selling blueberries, we are excited to offer over a full week of community free picks, from Sunday, July 18 (MEMBERS ONLY), to Tuesday, July 27 – a wild Maine blueberry extravaganza!” said CMLT, in a news release.

Pre-registration is required in order for to keep the number of participants per time slot manageable. Please go to website www.coastalmountains.org and look for the big blue button to register, no phone calls please.

Participants should bring their own drinking water and containers. Raking is NOT permitted. Hand washing stations will be available.

Beech Hill Preserve in Rockport is a 295-acre conservation property, managed for wildlife habitat, certified organic blueberry production, historic preservation, and scenic values.

 

Coastal Mountains Land Trust has worked since 1986 to permanently conserve land to benefit the natural and human communities of the western Penobscot Bay. The Land Trust has protected over 12,000 acres, offering 50 miles of trails for public recreation.
