ROCKLAND — The Arts in Action after-school program is partnering with teaching artists Annie Bailey and Katherine Ferrier to offer a pair of workshops at no cost to youth in 8th to 12th grades for the week of April 17-21, 2023, at the Lincoln Street Center in Rockland.

A 9 a.m. - Noon session will feature Cyanotype Printing and Quilt Making. Cyanotypes are a form of sun printing that use a photographic process and sun exposure to create a unique indigo print. Participants will use these prints to create the squares of fabric to make a small quilt, and explore the basics of quilt making.

The 2 - 5 p.m. workshop walks students through using a pattern to sew a “Boxy Top” shirt. This offering is complete with a visit to Clementine fabrics and learning how to customize their own clothing.

Participants may register for one or both workshops. All materials are provided. Pre-registration is required. Spaces are limited, registration is recommended by March 31.

To register, or for more information, email rspitz@rsu13.org or call 594-9764.
