SEARSPORT — Florence G. Carchide, 88, of Searsport, passed away on March 4, 2017, in Bangor. Born Dec. 17, 1928, to the late Neil and Orilla Curit, she was raised in Yarmouth.

Florence enjoyed cooking and always seemed to have a book in her hands.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Sam Carchide; her daughter, Diane Carchide; and her five siblings.

Surviving are her loving children, Catherine Leathers and her husband, Morris, of Belmont, Susan Leathers of Swanville and Richard "Dicky" Carchide of Searsport; her five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Private services have been entrusted to the Riposta Funeral Home.
