ROCKPORT — The Five Town Babe Ruth teams will host a fundraiser at Flatbread on Route 1 in Rockport on Tuesday, May 28.
The event, running from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., will feature players from the Granite Coast Orthodontics and P.G. Willey teams greeting patrons at the door offering opportunities for raffle drawings. Past raffle drawing prizes have included tickets to Boston Red Sox and Portland Sea Dog games, among other items.
During the event, half of the cost of all pizzas ordered will be donated to the teams to assist with necessary costs including field operations and maintenance at the Marge Jones Recreation Field, uniforms and equipment.
Most players on each team have come up through the Five Town Little League system and play on the junior varsity and varsity baseball teams at Camden Hills Regional High School.
Five Town Babe Ruth baseball offers an opportunity for continued growth and development in a competitive, fun environment as a member of the larger Midcoast Babe Ruth League.
P.G Willey earned a berth in the championship game last year and both teams return a number of players eager to showcase their skills.
Five Town Babe Ruth wants to publicly thank Flatbread for providing this and other fundraising opportunities for our local area.
