Family Art Night with guest artist Kristen Eckmann, Jan. 22
ROCKPORT — Midcoast multi-media artist and papermaker Kristen Eckmann will be offering a hands-on storytelling workshop for families, Jan. 22, at 6 p.m., at Rockport Public Library.
The workshop invites families to explore the idea of telling a life story with a small three-dimensional object.
Families will have the chance to work with fabric and thread. Eckmann will be teaching basic stitching techniques, surface design, drawing, and collage.
This class is in conjunction with Eckmann’s installation piece “A Memory To Hold,” which is on display at Zoot Coffee in Camden for the month of January.
All materials will be provided. Participants are invited to bring items from home that speak to the story they wish to share.
SPACE IS LIMITED. PLEASE CALL THE LIBRARY, 236-3642, TO REGISTER.
