Esther Wadsworth, obituary
SWANVILLE — Esther Isa Wadsworth, 95, of Swanville, passed away on Dec. 3, 2015, in Belfast. She was born Dec. 23, 1919, in Appleton, the daughter of Merton and Dora (Wellington) Wadsworth.
She and her family lived in Mt. Vernon when she was a child, and then they moved back to Appleton. Esther lived and worked on the family farm for the majority of her life until moving in with her niece, Beulah Colby and her husband Norman, in Swanville, in 1998. Esther also worked for several years in poultry processing in Belfast and Union. She was known for her goats and was called "the goat lady" by many.
Esther never married, devoting her life to God and her family. She was a Life Advent believer, later attending Pentecostal Assembly in Waldoboro for many years. Esther taught Sunday school in Belmont, as well as played the organ and accordion at churches she attended throughout the years. Most recently she attended Overcomer's Christian Fellowship in North Searsport.
She is predeceased by her parents; her siblings, including Doris Wadsworth, infant sister Ava, Harold Wadsworth, Ruth Damren, Edward Wadsworth, Dora Jackson, Muriel Wadsworth and Roger Wadsworth. She is survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held Monday, Dec. 7 from noon to 1 p.m. at Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave. in Belfast, with a funeral service beginning at 1 p.m. Interment will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery in Appleton.
