BROOKLIN — NOAH Publications will present its annual Calendar of Wooden Boats Most Photogenic Boat Award at the 2019 Eggemoggin Reach Regatta next month.

Marine photographer and publisher of the Calendar of Wooden Boats Benjamin Mendlowitz, along with marine historian Maynard Bray, who provides the calendar's text, will select the winning boat.

The Calendar of Wooden Boats Most Photogenic Boat Award recognizes the boat, regardless of its racing record, that stands out as an ideal example of the aesthetics, design, fine craftsmanship, and commitment to maintenance that are the hallmarks of an exceptional wooden boat, a press release stated.

The winner will be announced at the awards dinner following the race Saturday, Aug. 3 in Brooklin.

The award consists of an 11" x 14" signed Benjamin Mendlowitz photographic print of the winning boat, as well as a deluxe slip-cased, numbered and signed limited edition of the Book of Wooden Boats, Volume II.

The regatta began in 1985 with 13 entries and has grown in popularity to include more than 100 wooden boats racing a 15-mile course.

The event is co-hosted by the Brooklin Boatyard and Rockport Marine. The Camden Feeder Regatta and the Castine Classic Yacht Race joined the regatta to create a truly spectacular three-day event.

NOAH Publications has produced the Calendar of Wooden Boats since 1983.
