Duplicate bridge players excel during tournament

ROCKLAND — In a recent nationwide duplicate bridge tournament in which 1,465 pairs participated, local players Essie Dondis of Rockland and Anne Ayers of Union placed second overall with a 71% game.
Duplicate bridge, sanctioned by the American Contract Bridge League, is played on Mondays and Wednesdays at the American Legion Post on Veterans Memorial Drive in Rockland. Game time both days is 9:30 a.m.
