THOMASTON — Significant changes continue to occur at Dorman’s Dairy Dream this summer.

After adding Sunday operational hours this spring for the first time ever, the Thomaston ice cream hot spot is expanding its business at its current location on New County Road with the establishment of Dorman’s Grill.

The new business, which will aim to honor the Dorman family legacy, will be located in a building directly behind the famous ice cream building with construction underway and nearing completion.

The parking lot has recently been expanded to allow parking on the grass.

“We have named the items after our family that started the Dairy Dream,” a July 16 Facebook post announced. “In honor of my grandmother, Norma’s Sandwiches, grandfather Kendrick’s Meal Deals, great aunt and uncle called Will and Annie’s Side Orders, and last but not least Janice’s Kids Meals.”

The new business, which will be a take-out stand, will open later this summer upon the construction’s completion.

Hours of operation for Dorman’s Grill have not been announced.

The ice cream stand currently operates summer hours of 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays.
