Donut dashers – 190 of them — run Rockport route in Saturday 5K

Sat, 06/03/2023 - 7:30pm

The Friends of the Rockport Public Library’s Donut Dash 5K Family Fun Run/Walk was held at 8 a.m., Saturday, June 3. Despite the chilly weather and scattered raindrops, the event was a big success — three times larger than any of the library’s previous 5K races. Approximately 190 people registered and nearly 140 completed the race.

Runners started from the Rockport library, headed around Beauchamp Point and ended back at Marine Park at Rockport Harbor to join the donut festival in progress.

The overall male and female winners of the race were Scott Layton, with a time of 18:09 and Miranda Dunton, with a time of 21:49.

The following are the male and female winners from each age group, and times from the other runners can be found by visiting the Rockport Public Library’s Facebook page or website homepage, Rockport.lib.me.us.
