Dianna M. Willis, obituary
WASHINGTON — Dianna M. Willis, 76, of Washington, passed away at her home on July 10, 2025, with her loving husband by her side. She was born on November 3, 1948, in Dresden, Maine to parents Henry and Margaret (Day) Hatch.
Dianna grew up in Dresden and attended local schools, graduating from Wiscasset High School. She then went on to take a few college courses. In 1968 after returning from the service, her childhood sweetheart Michael Willis asked her to marry him. They were married for 56 wonderful years.
Dianna was a very giving and caring person. For 20 years, she taught grades 1-3 at the South Liberty Baptist Church. In addition to her role in the classroom, she also served as Pastor Garnett’s secretary, fully immersing herself in the church community that she dearly loved.
Outside of work, Dianna loved gardening, whether it be vegetables or flowers. She also enjoyed camping with Mike, going to church, crocheting, and knitting. She was a loving person, and will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and community.
Dianna was predeceased by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Willis; sister, Cheri Lilly; brothers, Warren Hatch, Dexter Hatch, and Richard Hatch, as well as her dearly beloved Jack Russell Terrier, Tippy.
A graveside service for Dianna will be held Friday, July 18, 2025, at 2 p.m., at Marr Cemetery in Washington, with Pastor Chad Colburn officiating.
