DEA provides results of October 2024 medication Take Back Day
DEA held the 27th National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on October 26, collecting 629,953 pounds of unneeded medications at collection sites across the country.
In Maine, 27 agencies participated at 38 collection sites. They collected 5,606 pounds of unneeded medication, which has increased their all-time weight of 556,293 pounds.
For comparison, during the April 2024 Drug Take Back Day, 37 agencies participated at 50 collection sites where 9,326 pounds of medication were received.
