Darrowby Farm Sanctuary announces construction of new barn, plans fundraiser
JEFFERSON — Darrowby Farm Sanctuary, in Jefferson, is constructing a new barn for rescued bovine and goat residents.
The barn is being constructed thanks to a generous grant from the Doree Taylor Foundation, according to the Sanctuary, in a news release. The farm animal sanctuary is planning to use the new structure to house their herd of steers and goats. This will provide a single home for their herds, allowing for improved care to maintain residents' health and safety year round.
The sanctuary is celebrating the completion of the barn at their first annual Solstice at the Sanctuary event being held Friday, June 21, from 6-8 p.m. Proceeds from this ticketed fundraising celebration will go toward completing electricity and insulation work to ensure a secure, warm, and healthy home for sanctuary residents.
