DAMARISCOTTA — Damariscotta Bank & Trust announces the promotion of three bank officers.

“We are proud to be a small community bank that promotes from within and provides a learning environment for our employees so they can continually grow and feel confident in their roles,” said DB&T President and CEO Scott Conant, in a news release. “Just as our customers are not treated as a number, neither are our employees.”

Sonja Benner has been promoted to vice president and treasurer.

Benner joined DB&T in 2005, and during these 14 years, she has held several positions. She graduated from the University of Maine with a Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, with an accounting concentration.

She holds several bank compliance certifications including Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist and Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager designations.

Benner lives in Warren and enjoys volunteering for various local organizations including her niece’s school and Girl Scout Troup.

Breanne Hatch has been promoted to vice president, risk management and BSA officer.

Hatch brings more than 11 years of banking experience to her role. She has earned her supervisor, business development, and managers as leaders certificates and is currently attending Southern Maine Community College to earn her business degree.

Hatch is an avid supporter of New Hope for Women and the fight to end domestic violence. She lives in Damariscotta with her husband Dan and daughter Tally.

Grace Shorey has been promoted to vice president, strategic initiatives officer.

Shorey brings more than 19 years of experience to her role and has held various positions throughout her time at DB&T.

She graduated from Andover College with an Associate's Degree in computer science.

When Shorey’s two children were young, she volunteered in their classrooms and with the Boy Scout and Girl Scout organizations. She now enjoys ringing the bell for the Lincoln County Food Hunger Collection during the holidays. Grace lives in the Midcoast with her husband John.

“We are excited about Sonja, Brea, and Grace’s new roles and look forward to each of them continuing to grow DB&T with their wealth of experience and knowledge,” said Conant, in the release.
