SOUTH THOMASTON — Dalton J. Cross, 29, died unexpectedly, Wednesday, May 31, 2023 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Born in Rockport, October 17, 1993, Dalton was the son of Stacy Cross Grierson and Todd Cochran. Dalton attended schools in South Thomaston, Owls Head and Rockland.

Always smiling, he was always ready to help anyone in need. He loved being outdoors, hunting, fishing and clamming. He made his living on the shoreline, harvesting clams. Spending time with his children and his family was Dalton’s favorite thing to do.

He will be sadly missed by all who loved him.

Predeceased by his son Bhentley Cross and his maternal grandfather, Steven Grierson; Dalton is survived by his mother, Stacy Grierson of South Thomaston; his father Todd Cochran and his fiancé Amy Murphy of Caribou; his brothers, Dylan Cross and his wife Joyce of Ashland, Massachusetts, and Dallas Cross and his companion Gabriella Fitzgerald of South Thomaston; his children Ashlyn Cross, Ansol Fuller, Annibelle Benner-Cross all of Waldoboro; his half-siblings, Amber Bartlett of Caribou, Coty Byram and Dylan Byram both of Madawaska, Bryant Burpee of Old Town, Kendra Kennedy of Texas; his maternal grandmother, Karen Grierson, of South Thomaston; his maternal great-grandmother, Phyllis Grierson of Bath; his paternal grandparents, Wayne, Sr. and Elizabeth Fox of Caribou; as well as several aunts, uncles nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of Dalton’s life will be held Thursday, June 15, 2023, at 2 p.m., at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland.
