CUSHING — The Cushing Public Library has begun to open in planned stages. Members of the Library Board have been accepting and processing returned books, and on June 8 the library began its second phase, making available books ordered over the phone for curbside pickup on Monday and Wednesday, between 10 a.m. and noon.

The library’s catalog is online at cushing.lib.me.us and books can be ordered at wrobertsmaine63@gmail.com at least two days before pickup. Patrons will call from the parking lot at 354-8860 to meet at the door.

In a few weeks the library plans a soft re-opening with reduced hours as well as a limited number of patrons permitted inside at any one time.

The library will announce the next phase on its website, Facebook page or Cushing Post.

“The library is pleased to once again serve our community with its always-growing collection of books, DVDs and CDs,” said the Library, in a news release.

Safety protocols and procedures have been developed in accordance with Maine CDC and Maine State Library guidelines.
