BELFAST — Belfast Area High School’s fourth annual Festival of Trees kicked off Dec. 7 at the United Farmer’s Market.

According to a press release for the Festival of Trees: “The Festival of Trees features beautifully decorated Christmas trees donated by local businesses or groups of community members, and festooned with valuable items and gift certificates. You’ll also find theme trees, such as Family Fun, Date Night, Men’s Tree, or Mom’s Day Off. Each tree and its contents will go home with a raffle winner! A Silent Auction will feature a South Africa Photo Safari package, a photography session at Cross Photography, a CedarWorks bench, a fishing trip, an art print on canvas, plus many more items.”

In addition to the many trees to be admired, there was music, cookies, and a visit from Santa Saturday morning.

The proceeds raised from the event will go towards BAHS Project Graduation. The event is organized by parents of senior students and provides a “fun, all-night, alcohol-free, post-graduation experience for seniors.”
