SPRUCE HEAD — After an extensive search and rigorous interview process, The Craignair Inn has hired St. George resident Jillian Bedell as their new Director of Marketing. Bedell is a writer and creative consultant.

Previously she was a copywriter and content strategist for Dream Local Digital, creating campaigns for small and midsize enterprises in Maine and beyond. Her clients included Mad Gab’s Lip Balm, Herbal Revolution,
the Maine Lobster Festival, and Rock Harbor Pub and Brewery.

Her professional passion centers around storytelling and connection, which served her well as a freelance marketing consultant for local businesses such as Flaura Flowers and Wine in Thomaston, hello hello books in Rockland, and Village Ice Cream and Bakery in Port Clyde. She is lead researcher and writer for Delicacies Jewelry, a line of fine jewelry for epicureans, and is working on a collection of essays about Maine. In a news release, Bedell said her background in higher education, ghost writer in the health and wellness sector, and contributor to publications such as Down East Magazine informed her work in this new role.

Bedell holds a Bachelor of Arts in 20th Century American Poetry with a minor in Mythological Criticism and Roman Catholic Theology from Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, Connecticut. She is an author of Eating in Maine, a collection of recipes, travel narratives, and memoir. She is a mother of two daughters.

Bedell is on the Board of Trustees at the First Universalist Church in Rockland, happiest reading, writing, and walking by the sea. She said she is thrilled for the challenge and grateful to be working in such a progressive, creative, ethical, and beautiful setting.
