Coastal Quilters Jan. 13 meeting to include "Kilts and Quilts" presentation, annual retreat

Sat, 01/06/2024 - 6:00pm

CAMDEN — Coastal Quilters will start the year off with their regular second Saturday meeting on January 13, at 10 a.m. A short business meeting and the usual Show and Tell and refreshments will be followed by a slide presentation by two members about their recent trip to Scotland on a "Kilts and Quilts" tour.

In addition, preceding the Saturday meeting is the annual "Stay-Retreat,” a gathering of members and friends for some dedicated sewing time. Over Thursday, Friday and Saturday, the Lions Club will be set up for sewing with machines. Tables and chairs and an ironing station will be provided. Bring your machine, a cushion if desired, and some new or unfinished projects to work on, get help with, or share a new technique with others.

“If you are new to the area or to the guild, come and get acquainted,” said Coastal Quilters, in a news release.

Machines may be left overnight in the locked building.

The cost is $30 for the three days if using a machine, or $10 if just doing hand sewing. Come all three days or just one or two. Bring a bag lunch or go out at one of Camden's lunch spots.

The Retreat will continue on Saturday following the meeting.

The Camden Lions Club is located on Lions Lane off of Knowlton Street, across from the bus garage.
