BELFAST — MaineHealth Waldo Hospital welcomes Christopher Nelson, PA-C, to its Cardiology Department. 

Nelson comes to MHWH with nearly 25 years of experience as a physician assistant in adult medicine starting in internal medicine at MaineHealth Lincoln Hospital in Damariscotta (formerly known as Miles Hospital) and most recently spending the past three years in ambulatory cardiology at St. Joseph Hospital in Bangor. Other experiences include vascular medicine in Bangor, hospital medicine/stress testing, internal medicine and urology at Maine Coast Hospital in Ellsworth. 

Nelson earned a master’s degree in physician assistant studies from the University of Iowa in 2000 and holds a master's in genetics/agronomy from Colorado State University and a bachelor’s degree in biology from St. John's University/College of St. Benedict in Minnesota.
