ROCKPORT — Starlight Lodge at Rockport Harbor is hosting a drop-in open air sculpture exhibition featuring large mixed media works by Maine artist Charles Duvall from October to December 2020.

The drop-in exhibition is open daily during daylight hours and no reservations are needed. The event is complimentary to the public and a children/leashed dog friendly event.

Duvall, whose work is collected internationally and is displayed at the Farnsworth Museum, is known for his tensed fabric works as well as other thrusts in jewelry, sculpture and mixed media, according to the Lodge, in a news release. Duvall was invited to speak at The Louvre Museum in Paris and has completed commission works for public institutions as well as private collectors all over America.

Starlight Lodge at Rockport Harbor also has a Duvall Stargazer Pavilion and an original sculpture “Starburst” on its grounds, both available for viewing at the exhibition.

The Exhibition will showcase “The Duvall Celestial Trees-Series I,” a 5 piece collection of monoliths in painted metal, rock and stenciled poetry (written by Duvall). The pieces include: Celestial Tree No. 1, Angel, Little Guy, Space Frontier and Music of the Spheres. These pieces celebrate color, geometry and post modern interpretations of light and dimension with forceful primitive elements including iron bars and Maine River basin rocks.

Starlight Lodge at Rockport Harbor is located at 360 Commercial Street, Rockport, Maine.
